Before setting up your class, ensure the VET Coordinator has ordered the correct courses and enough seats to accommodate your students. Based on the student order, the School Relationship Officer can help change or adjust classes if needed.
The first step to setting up your class is to ensure the correct courses have been ordered.
Your VET Coordinator is responsible for ordering courses. Each course will have several seats ordered. Seats refer to the number of Students who can be added under each course.
For example:
- If you have 20 Students completing Certificate I in Employment Pathways, you should have 20 seats ordered for your school.
- These 20 seats can then be split into however many classes you would like. You may want to have all 20 Students in the one class, or two classes of 10 students each.
- The breakdown of Students and classes is entirely up to you. You can also add more students to a course beyond its initial seat capacity. Please use the Add Classes button on the Trainer Dashboard and follow this How to Add Classes and Request Unit Changes article for detailed instructions.
Once the appropriate courses and seat numbers have been ordered, classes can then be created.
Our IVET Admin team will create classes on your behalf. We ensure this is done ready for your class start date.
In the meantime, please prioritize completing the necessary requirements for IVET Trainers. This includes providing evidence of your qualifications, such as your TAE Certificate and certificates related to the units you'll be teaching.
Once the required classes have been setup, these classes will be visible on the Trainer Dashboard. If you do not see all of your classes, please contact your School Relationship Officer (SRO).
