Trainers can activate units only if their Trainer Forms have been approved by the Compliance Team.
Unit assessments are not automatically activated, which restricts the Student’s ability to start assessments for units that you are not yet ready to begin teaching.
When you are ready for your Students to start their assessments, you will need to activate the unit in the Class Management area.
You can do this for either all the Students in your class or for specific Students only. This allows you to maintain full control over what your class is working on. Students can still access resources for units that have not yet been activated, this function only prevents their ability to view and complete assessments.
- To access your Class Dashboard, sign in to the Portal as Trainer.
If you hold Dual role Coordinator - Trainer, sign in to the Portal as Coordinator and click on the Trainer Dashboard button to switch to you Trainer Dashboard. - Next, roll down to the Class Index section, where you can see all the classes that you are training, then find the class you would like to view and simply click on the Go to Class button.
- Simply click on Class Management in the header navigation.
- After that, the Portal will bring you to the Class Management area, as shown below. To activate Students' unit, just follow these steps:
- Click on the Unit Activation tab in the header navigation. This will load a list of all Students and their activation status of all units within the course.
- You can either Select All Students if you wish to activate the unit for the entire class
or
Select individual Students by checking the appropriate check box. - You will then be prompted to click the Activate Selected to confirm and activate your selection.
- In this same area, there is a Requirements button under each unit.
By clicking on this button, you can see the supporting unit files such as the Assessor Guide, the Student Guide, additional assessment materials and templates.
