How to request units Credit Transfer for Students

Credit Transfer is the recognition of academic credits gained through formal study at Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), professional bodies or enterprises and universities. Credit Transfer is credit given based on documentary evidence of statement of attainment or qualifications.

When your Student has previously completed a unit, they can request the unit to be applied a Credit Transfer in their class. Then, they are not required to complete any assessments of that unit.

  1. To request a credit transfer, make sure the Students' certificates or statements of attainments are certified correctly by either:
    1. The certificate or statement of attainment has the QR code on it and it is still working. 
      If the certificate doesn't have the QR code or the QR code is not working anymore, you may need to follow the other solutions below (b and c).
    2. Leave a note directly on the copy of each page of the certificate, containing:
      • The sentence: "Certified to be a true copy of the original seen by me"
      • The date of certification
      • The certifier's name, profession, signature and registration number (if applicable)

    3. Attach a certification letter for one or for multiple certificates, containing:
      • The sentence: "Certified to be a true copy of the original seen by me"
      • The date of certification
      • The certifier's name, profession, signature and registration number (if applicable)
      • The Students' Name
      • The unit code and name for credit transfer
  2. Once your certified certificates are ready, send an email to our support team and we will process the credit transfer for your Students:
    1. Compose an email to: admin@ivet.edu.au
    2. Email title: Credit Transfer - [Your School Name]
    3. In the email, please include the following information:
      • Your Student's full name and Student ID
      • Your class ID
      • The unit codes and unit names for credit transfer
      • Students' certified certificates or statements of attainment as attachment

The following people can also certify your certificates:

  • Principal of a Registered School
  • Lawyer
  • Medical Practitioner, Dentist, Pharmacist
  • Veterinarian
  • Accountant
  • Minister of Religion Authorised to Celebrate Marriages
  • A Justice of The Peace or a Bail Justice
  • Bank Manager
  • Police Officer
