Features of the Observation Tool

These features will significantly support you in marking, editing, uploading evidence and resetting your Students' Observations.

16 important features of the Observation will be listed in order as follows, which provide you with the basic information to get used to using and utilise the features during your journey.

I. Observation information:

1. Class and Unit: The Class Name and Unit details are listed in the top left-hand corner of the screen

2. Repeat: Observations that are required to be completed in different sittings are now listed in separate tabs, which can be found in the top left-hand corner of the screen



II. Interactive Buttons

3. Upload Evidences: Upload function per statement and/or Student, allowing Trainers to upload evidence files.Picture9-3


4. Export PDF: Ability to export observations for the entire class. When clicked, this PDF is sent to you via email.

5. Mark Selected as Absent: Use the Absent button to mark Students who are not present during the session. Alternatively, you can leave these Students blank.
When Students are marked as Absent, the status will be visible next to each statement:

6. Edit Selected: Choose the Students you would like to edit Observations, simply click on the Edit button in the top-right corner. You can fill in the information in the pop-up window, upload the evidence and click on Save to finish.


7. Reset Selected: Ability to reset observations, allowing you to fix any errors immediately. The select all function can be used when resetting, so you are able to quickly select all applicable statements and/or Students
The PDF will show the progress of all Observations, including those that have been completed and those still yet to be completed


8. Save: Do not forget to click on the Save button to make sure all your actions will be recorded. 


III. Student Progress:

9. Observation Information: An Observation Information popup that houses key details and files for the Observations, as well as a list of equipment that you will need to complete the Observation Statements.


10. Select All: Ability to Select All for class, statements and Students, with the additional option to unselect by Student/statement after using the function.


11. View uploaded Evidence File: You can view uploaded evidence files by clicking on the little paperclip shown in the top right-hand corner next to each Student and statement.


12. Export Observation: Ability to export completed Observations for a specific Student, which can be viewed in either PDF or HLMT format


13. Edit Observation: Ability to edit observations, allowing you to change any previous submissions by simply clicking on the Edit button underneath

When editing, you can change the Observation from a Yes to a No (and vice versa), update/change the comment, change the date and upload a new evidence file

IV/ OTHER FEATURES

14. Withdrawn Students: Withdrawn Students are shown in the list but will appear at the bottom of the screen. Their results will be visible, and evidence upload files can still be viewed, but you are unable to edit/update their results


15. Credit Transfer: Students who have a Credit Transfer for the unit, or who have been marked as Not Applicable will show in the list, however, it will be visible that they do not require Observations to be completed

16. Mandatory evidence statements: Mandatory evidence statements require you to upload a file when completing the statement. Any mandatory evidence statements will have a teal information icon next to the statement
